The Art of Bathing

The Art of Bathing
a spiritual experience
The act of bathing can be used to promote not only physical cleanliness but also spiritual well being as it is the perfect time for relaxation and meditation. A bath taken for purification is a special experience that requires a certain amount of preparation. Before starting take a moment to focus on the purpose of your bath. Meditation
and visualisation techniques can be useful to aide the experience.

This type of bath requires that you immerse your whole body, including your head into tepid water. Gently lower your body into the bath. Keep your mind focused on the purpose of the bath….to relax! When ready, submerse your whole body under the water including your head for a few moments. Move gently and feel your body and mind relaxing.

Stay in the bath for 8-10 minutes always keeping your mind focused on the purpose of the bath. When you leave the tub if possible try not to towel off. Do not use soap or oil if you are having a salt bath.

Always remember to sip a glass of water whilst having a bath to avoid dehydration.

If you do not have a bath you can still enjoy the benefits of Lotus Child Herbal Salts and Bath Crystals by placing a teaspoon of salts in a basin or large bowl of water and splashing over your body before toweling.

Consider the environment when bathing. If your bath salts or crystals contain herbs or dried flowers, use a strainer when letting your bath water out!

It is not recommended to have a hot bath if suffering from high blood pressure or after strenuous physical activity. We suggest only warm water with all out bath preparations. Pregnant women should use essential oils with caution.
